ERASMUS+ MOBILITY FOR TRAINEESHIP: WHAT IS IT AND HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Erasmus+ is the EU’s programme about education, training, youth and sport for the period 2014-2020 which supports the international mobility of students and future graduates to the countries participating in the Program (cf. Article 1.4), with the aim of improving the level of transversal and professional skills, with particular attention to their relevance for the labor market and their contribution to the creation of a cohesive society.
The Erasmus + for Traineeship contributions are awarded for the following activities at a foreign host institution:

A) training and professional orientation internships
B) curricular internships

DURATION

The internship abroad can last from a minimum of 2 months to a maximum of 12 months.

With Erasmus + you can do several stays abroad, both as a student and as a trainee, but the total period spent abroad (including periods of study) can not exceed 12 months in a cycle of studies.
“Cycle” means the level of studies defined by the European Qualifications Framework (EQF):
– first cycle (three-year degree or equivalent) QEQ 5/6;
– second cycle (master’s degree or equivalent) EQF 7;
– third cycle (PhD or equivalent) QEQ 8;
For special “one cycle” courses, such as for example architecture or medicine, you can go abroad with the Erasmus + program for 24 months.

You can do an internship abroad as a new graduate. In this case you must do the internship within one year of graduation and you must apply while you are still enrolled in university.
